AOTD: Joe Budden - Mood Muzik III

After almost two years of pushing back scheduled release dates, Mood Muzik 3 was finally released in December 2007 and served as the final chapter in the Mood Muzik mixtape series.

After the huge success of Mood Muzik 2 two years previously, many thought it would be difficult for Mood Muzik 3 to replicate the quality of it's predecessor.

Everything that made Mood Muzik 2 stand out from the crowd is present again here. How he can switch seamlessly from a deep personal track, to straight slaughtering an instrumental - it's got it all. The production however is Mood Muzik 3's weakness, handled by an array of different producers. The songs stand well on their own but as a cohesive album, not so much.

I enjoyed a lot of the songs on this album. None more so than Talk 2 'Em, which is a crazy 5 minute track where Joe lets off a lot of emotions, the track ends with him firing shots at Jay-Z (his former boss). Who from the sounds of it really fuckjavascript:void(0)ed him over while he was at Def Jam.
